William George LINTO, widower employed as a ploughman/farm labourer with two children, Robert and Maria, resided/lodged with an aunt Mary Slade and her husband of North Perrot near Yeovil Somersetshire.

William Linto on the 3 July 1849 was convicted of larceny, stealing a hive of bees, and sentenced to 10 years transportation; he had been previously convicted 4 yrs. prior to this conviction. He was initially imprisoned at Taunuton Somerset. On 29 October 1849 he was transferred to Millbank Prison, later 16 January he was tranferred to Pentonville Prison where on the 28 November 1850 he was transferred to the prison hulk "Justitia" prior to transportation on "H.M.C.S. Mermaid" and was listed as Convict No 211.

He arrived in Western Australia on 17 May 1851 and was sent to York W.A. He was granted his Ticket of Leave on 17 Febraury 1852 and granted permission to marry in the half year ending 30 June 1853, a Conditional Pardon was granted 26 January 1856. He married Mary Redding(Redden) 14 September 1856 in York W.A. and had 7 children.
