Joseph HILL was born 1837 Nottingham, England, to William Hill. He was convicted of robbery with violence in Haverford West 1858. He received 8 years and arrived 1861. He received his ticket of leave 16/11/1861 and conditional pardon 1/7/1864 in Bunbury.
Jospeh was a semi literate man and his occupation was sawyer. He married Elizabeth Dawson (1850) at the Picton Church 5/3/1880. They had children Joseph (1875), Charles (1876), Henry (1879), Rose (1881), James (1884), Alice (1888), Edward (1889-1893), Arthur (1891), Edward (1893), Harriet (1895). Joseph worked as a sawyer/labourer in the Collie/Gusta area. He died in Bunbury 22/3/1905 and was buried there 24/3/1905.
